
Eric Syverson
Vice President of Policy & Research
Aligned
Eric Syverson serves as Aligned’s Vice President of Policy & Research, where he leads the organization’s policy, research, and advocacy strategy across Kansas and Missouri. In this role, he oversees policy analysis, legislative engagement, research initiatives, and thought leadership efforts designed to advance evidence-based education and workforce policies.
Eric is a nonpartisan public policy professional with more than six years of experience in policy analysis, legislative tracking, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications. Prior to joining Aligned, he served as a Senior Policy Specialist at the National Conference of State Legislatures, where he conducted research, authored policy briefs, and provided analysis on tax and fiscal policy issues for state legislators nationwide.
Previously, Eric worked at the Education Commission of the States, where he tracked legislation across all 50 states, developed multi-state policy comparisons, and partnered with policymakers and education leaders to support informed decision-making.
A native Kansan and proud graduate of the University of Kansas, Eric is passionate about helping states develop policies that improve educational opportunities, strengthen workforce outcomes, and support long-term economic growth. He is honored to lead Aligned’s policy and research efforts and advance the organization’s mission across Kansas and Missouri.
