Tyler Nottberg

Tyler Nottberg brings to the board a problem solving, forward thinking leadership style fostered through his experience as both a policy wonk and business owner.

Tyler serves as chairman and chief executive officer of U.S. Engineering Company Holdings, one of the nation’s largest and most successful mechanical construction firms, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. He is the fifth generation of the Nottberg family to lead U.S. Engineering, where he previously served as a project manager and as a vice presiden

Prior to joining U.S. Engineering, Tyler was vice president of Legal, Economic and Regulatory Affairs for Gerson Lehrman Group, a financial research firm based in New York, where he helped establish offices in Washington DC, London and Delhi.

He serves on the board of directors for UMB Bank, n.a. and Labconco Corporation, as well as several non-profit boards, including Colorado Succeeds, the American Royal, and the University of Kansas Health System’s Advancement Board.

Tyler is a graduate of Middlebury College and Oxford University, where he was a Keasbey Scholar. He also is a LEED® Accredited Professional. He and his wife, Leigh, live in Kansas City with their two children, Maggie and Andrew.

Tyler co-founded Aligned in 2011 to bring the business voice to education policymaking in Kansas and Missouri.
