C. Patrick Woods

 

C. Patrick Woods is the Manager of Regulatory Strategy for ITC Great Plains, a Fortis Company, headquartered in Topeka, KS.

 In addition to his work at ITC, Patrick has served in a variety of leadership roles in the private sector and in state and local government, including stints as the Director of Talent Management & Diversity at Westar Energy, Director of Advancement for the College of LAS at the University of Kansas, Education Policy Adviser and legislative liaison for Governor Kathleen Sebelius, Director of Governmental Affairs for the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.  He has served as Chairman of the Kansas African American Affairs Commission, president of the Board of Education for the Topeka Public Schools, USD 501, and until January of 2020, Patrick served as the president of the Kansas Association of School Boards.   Currently, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas Health Foundation, Second Vice President for the Topeka Branch NAACP, and Trustee for Friends University.

 For his work, in 2013 Mr. Woods was named one of “50 Kansans You Should Know” by Ingrams Business Magazine in Kansas City, and one of Greater Topekas 20 under 40 Top Professionals in 2010 by the Jayhawk Area Council BSA.  Academically, Mr. Woods earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Kansas, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science-History with a minor in Spanish from Friends University in Wichita, Kan.
