Dr. John Vandewalle

John Vandewalle, a self-anointed serial entrepreneur, injects Aligned with the confidence to think big and lead boldly. His executive experience spans a wide range of industries including education, information technology, publishing and medicine to name a few. He adheres to a personal mission to connect every student around the world to opportunity through education.

He currently owns Lumen Touch, which provides an all-in-one enterprise solution for schools and districts to manage curriculum, student achievement, and the many facets of school administration. Previously, John founded and served as the chief executive officer of Teva Marion Partners (Teva Neuroscience) followed by president of the North and South American operations of Quintiles. He began his career as a high school teacher and biochemical research scientist in Johannesburg, South Africa.

John is a graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand with degrees in Zoology, Biochemistry and Medicine. He also has a EMBA from Rockhurst University.

Along with Aligned, John volunteers with the Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University as an advisory council member, and was an adjunct marketing professor. He serves as a mentor for the following programs: Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring, Rockhurst University’s executive MBA, Southwest High School and Big Brothers Big Sisters in Kansas City.

John is a member and the past president of the Overland Park South Rotary Club as well as a two-term district governor for Rotary. He also serves on the following boards: Kansas City Suicide Awareness and Prevention Program (KCSAPP), Heart to Heart International and Gordon Parks Elementary School and the Johnson County Visioning Committee and Kansas Power of the People Committee.
